Who Are We?

We are people who love small businesses. In recent years, online spending and the shifting economy have significantly impacted small shops and family-owned businesses, especially diverse ones. We felt the need to do something, so we created Sertify to help them open doors to new customers and to access needed capital.

We are a group of friends from all across the country. Some live in large urban areas like New York City and Washington D.C. Some reside in smaller cities or towns in California and the Midwest. Many of us have owned or provided services to small businesses, so we have a direct understanding of how shopping local contributes to the vibrancy of neighborhoods both large and small.

We are a community with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We’ve led small business teams at Fortune 500 companies, created products that empower youth, and formed a bunch of technology startups. At the heart of it all, we have experienced the highs and lows of entrepreneurship. We’ve washed dishes to help keep restaurants alive. We’ve worked as sole proprietors of businesses from our basements and garages. We identify with the small business owners we partner with.
